In Honkai: Star Rail, your team composition matters more than raw stats thanks to the Path system, which clearly defines each character’s role. Whether you’re deciding which five-star to pull for or which four-star to build, understanding who excels in each role will save you resources and frustration. Here’s a role-focused tier guide to help you prioritize your investments.

Healers: Keep Your Team Alive

For healing, Luocha (5★, Abundance, Imaginary) is currently the best choice. His healing scales with Attack, so he deals respectable damage while healing passively. He can also clear debuffs, and with Eidolons, he grants party-wide attack buffs and shields. If you don’t have him, Bailu (Abundance, Lightning) is a strong alternative. She applies Invigoration, which heals allies whenever they are hit, and her unique revive can save a downed teammate. Both are excellent, but Luocha offers more utility.

Supports: Amplify Your Damage

Yukong (Harmony, Imaginary) is the premier four-star support. Her Roaring Bowstrings passive provides flat attack buffs, and her ultimate boosts party-wide crit rate and crit damage. Since these buffs are fixed percentages, you don’t need to build specific stats for her to be effective. Bronya (Harmony, Wind) is the top five-star support. Her skill, Combat Redeployment, dispels debuffs and grants an ally an immediate action with increased damage—perfect for supercharging a fast DPS like Seele. Her ultimate also gives a straightforward attack and crit damage boost to the whole party.
