AFK Journey Update: Hero Rental & New Features

AFK Journey is preparing a substantial update cycle that introduces a Dimensional Hero rental system, restructures the Echoes of Dissent season into three reward-focused phases, and adds several new PvP and social features. The changes aim to improve progression pacing, provide clearer seasonal objectives, and give players more ways to acquire and develop limited heroes. Below is a summary of the upcoming adjustments arriving across Versions 1.4.1 through 1.4.3.

Dimensional Hero Rental (Version 1.4.2)

Starting in Version 1.4.2, players can spend Diamonds to send a rental request for a Dimensional Hero from a friend or Guild member who owns that hero. If the owner declines, the Diamonds are refunded. Each successful rental lasts one month, and after renting a certain number of times, subsequent rentals become free. There is no monthly limit on how many heroes a player can rent or lend, and no restrictions on where or how often a rented hero can be used.

When a hero is rented, the renter receives the base version of that hero; the owner’s development progress does not carry over. The renter can build the rented hero as normal, including purchasing Soul Sigils with Diamonds at a cost slightly higher than during the original limited-time event. At the end of the rental period, the hero becomes locked but all progress is saved. If the same hero is rented again later, development resumes from where it stopped.

Echoes of Dissent: Three-Phase Season and Phase Rewards

The Echoes of Dissent season is now split into three phases, each with its own set of objectives and rewards. This restructuring replaces the previous single Season Settlement Reward and increases the total reward value. Phase rewards include
