Arc Raiders Update: Shift to Biannual Cadence

Embark Studios is shifting how it updates Arc Raiders. Originally planned as a monthly cycle, the developer has confirmed that major updates will now arrive twice a year, with the first—Frozen Trail—scheduled for October. Embark explained that the monthly cadence limited the scope and impact of changes, making it unsustainable for the long-term experience it wants to create. Routine patches for balance, bug fixes, and store refreshes will continue frequently between major releases.

Embark acknowledged that players may be wary of slower updates, but stated that the new pace allows deeper investment in progression, economy balancing, fair play, and anti-cheat efforts. The studio emphasized that each major update will be larger in scale and designed to genuinely change how the game is played. Frozen Trail is billed as Arc Raiders’ biggest update since launch, aiming to address major community questions.

The October update will introduce the largest map yet, set in a new Rust Belt landscape. New Arc enemy designs and behaviors will appear in what Embark calls the most ambitious ARC operation so far. A reworked progression system will add fresh goals and ways to shape a Raider’s growth, targeting players who have long since maxed their hideout and skill points. The update will also explore the origin of ARC for the first time, improving the skill tree and adding new weapons, items, instruments, and cosmetics.

      Progression and Live Updates

Progression concerns remain a focus. Core activities like Trials and the Expedition are under review because some players feel they have seen everything and engagement has waned. Embark is refining these systems to provide meaningfu
