Ready or Not 2: Script Complete, No Distributor

Radio Silence, the filmmaking trio comprising directors Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and producer Chad Villella, have offered an optimistic update on the long-in-development sequel to their 2019 horror-comedy Ready or Not. In a recent interview, Gillett confirmed that a script for Ready or Not 2 is complete, describing it as “an absolute fucking banger of a sequel.” However, the project currently has no distributor and no release date. “It’s getting figured out,” Gillett said, adding: “That’s what we’ll say: Ready or Not 2 is getting figured out.”

The Original and Its Legacy

The original film, directed by the same duo who later helmed Scream 6, follows Grace (Samara Weaving), a bride who on her wedding night is forced by her new husband’s eccentric and wealthy family to play a lethal game of hide-and-seek as part of a dark tradition. The cast also includes Adam Brody, Andie MacDowell, Mark O’Brien, and Henry Czerny. The film concluded with Grace surviving the ordeal and escaping the family’s estate, leaving the door wide open for a sequel.

Radio Silence expressed a deep creative attachment to the property, regardless of current logistical hurdles. “However it gets made, and in whatever capacity we are helping get it made, we are so excited that it’s happening,” Gillett stated. “That movie is truly the love of our creative lives in a lot of ways.” The trio’s enthusiasm suggests the sequel remains a priority even as they seek a distribution partner.
