The Tainted Spice Quest Guide: Prep & Walkthrough

The Tainted Spice is the final Atreides mission for Thufir Hawat. Completing it brings you one step closer to meeting Duke Leto and maxing your faction rank. But first, you need to retrieve a shipment of poisoned Spice from the wreck of the Delphis in Sheol.

Prepare for the Radioactive Zone

Sheol is a radioactive zone in western Hagga Basin, accessible only by Ornithopter. The wreck sits on isolated rocky islands, and two Sandworms constantly patrol the area — traveling by ground is suicide. Before heading out, equip a Radiation Suit and carry Iodine Pills. Use a Survey Probe on the region beforehand to reveal navigation points in the irradiated fields. Also pack a Vehicle Backup Tool: if you die and respawn far from your Ornithopter, you’ll need it to summon your ride.

Retrieving the Poisoned Spice

Land your Ornithopter near the wreck. The entrance is guarded by two light enemies and a heavy gatling trooper. Clear them, then head inside and go left. The quest container is tucked in a corner near a fire. Grab the Spice and leave immediately — this is a PvPvE zone, and other players may be on the same mission or looking for a fight. The remaining hazards (Sandworms, radiation, and respawn distance) all punish lingering, so move fast.

Return to Arrakkeen

Once you have the Spice, fly to the western edge of the map to exit Hagga Basin. Return to Arrakkeen and report to Thufir Hawat. He’ll have you complete a final set of requirements to gain an audience with Duke Leto, after which your Atreides faction rank will be maxed.
