The Mid-Season Cup will be hosted outside Southeast Asia for the first time, feature a larger prize pool, and include more participating regions. From its inception in 2017 through 2022, the MSC was exclusively a Southeast Asian competition. The first expansion occurred in 2023, when three non-Southeast Asian teams — from North America, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and Turkey — entered the tournament. The rebranding to the Mid-Season Cup formalizes this trajectory, turning what was once a regional showcase into a true international event.
