Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 – New Characters & Fate Crossover

Honkai: Star Rail version 3.4, titled ‘For the Sun is Set to Die,’ launches on July 2, 2025, bringing a pivotal story chapter, three new characters, a Fate/stay night crossover, and major balance upgrades. The update follows the Trailblazer and the Chrysos Heirs into Aedes Elysiae, with narrative threads pointing toward the dawn of the Era Nova.

New Characters and Kits

Phainon, the first of the new arrivals, is an original character who accumulates Coreflames in battle. Once enough are gathered, his Ultimate triggers a transformation that creates a ‘Territory,’ massively boosting his power. While transformed, allies temporarily leave the field but retain their bonus effects, and Phainon gains abilities tied to the Titans of Origination, Calamity, and Foundation. His presence also raises the Technique Point cap, and his Technique can instantly defeat normal enemies without combat.

Saber, from the Fate/stay night collaboration, is a 5-star Wind character on the Path of Destruction. Her kit revolves around ‘Core Resonance,’ which she builds through Technique, Basic ATKs, or allies’ Ultimates. When Core Resonance is full, she gains an extra action. Using her Skill then consumes all Resonance to amplify damage and instantly refill her Ultimate Energy. Her Ultimate, Excalibur, deals massive Wind DMG to all enemies and enhances her Basic ATKs.

Archer, the second Fate character, follows the Path of the Hunt and specializes in sustained single-target damage. His Skill activates ‘Circuit Connection,’ allowing repeated casts without ending his turn until Skill Points run out; each cast increases damage.
