Pokémon TCG Pocket Shinedust Guide: How to Get & Use

Shinedust is a currency in Pokémon TCG Pocket used to unlock Flairs for cards and, following the July 2025 update, to facilitate trading. Acquiring enough Shinedust is essential for players who want to customise their collections or exchange cards, so knowing the most reliable sources and costs is key.

      How to Obtain Shinedust

The primary way to earn Shinedust is by receiving duplicate cards, whether from opening booster packs, using Wonder Pick, or purchasing Trainer Cards from the shop. Every duplicate grants a small amount of Shinedust, and as the collection grows, duplicates become more frequent, increasing the income. However, buying Trainer Cards specifically to farm Shinedust is not recommended—it wastes Shop Tickets, and players typically need only up to two copies of a Trainer card since they can be reused across decks.

Achievements in the game also award Shinedust when reaching new ranks. These can be found by tapping the profile icon and scrolling down. Each rank tier gives a set amount: Bronze grants 30 Shinedust, Silver grants 50, Gold grants 70, and Platinum grants 100. The sole exception is the card-dex achievement, which provides only a trophy.

Limited-time events occasionally include Shinedust as a reward, though it is not guaranteed in every event. When offered, the Shinedust must be collected before the event ends. For example, the Meowth Wonder Pick Event Part 2 allowed players to exchange Event Shop Tickets for 50 Shinedust up to 20 times (a maximum of 1,000 Shinedust). The Lapras ex Drop Event gave Shinedust randomly as a match reward. Other events follow similar patterns, so checking the event details is crucial.
