      Black Myth: Wukong – Bell Shrines Guide & Rewards

      In Chapter 1 of Black Myth: Wukong, you’ll come across three hidden bell shrines scattered across Black Wind Mountain. While ringing a single bell has no immediate effect, ringing all three unlocks a secret area and a challenging boss encounter. The Keeper of the Mountain warns against it, but the rewards are well worth the risk.

      What Happens When You Ring the Bells?

      Ringing one bell by itself does nothing. The magic only triggers after you ring all three. Once you activate the third shrine, you are automatically teleported to a hidden location called the Ancient Guanyin Temple. A checkpoint appears there, allowing you to fast travel to and from the temple afterward. If you miss any bell earlier, you can return to the relevant checkpoint and complete the remaining shrines – ringing the final bell is what triggers the teleport.

      The Hidden Boss and Reward

      The Ancient Guanyin Temple courtyard contains valuable loot, but the main attraction is the boss fight against Elder Jinchi. This is a demanding encounter, likely the toughest enemy you have faced so far in Chapter 1. Defeating Elder Jinchi rewards you with the Fireproof Mantle, a special vessel that, when activated, grants Focus regeneration and complete immunity to fire.

      Bell Locations

      Bell 1: After the Outside the Forest Checkpoint (where you briefly turn into a cicada), head into the open arena to the left. Defeat the optional boss Guangzhi, then find the Bell Shrine behind him.

      Bell 2: From the Snake Trail Checkpoint, follow the path past the Gourd master until you reach a bamboo area full of snake skeletons. Look for a gap in the wall marked by a burning brazier; here you’ll fight the bos
