Arknights Endfield Essences: How to Boost Weapon Perks

Essences are equippable items in Arknights Endfield that boost your weapon’s existing perks rather than providing raw stats like ATK or Crit RATE. When you equip an Essence, it increases the level of each perk your weapon already has — think of it like upgrading multiple weapon potentials at once. This makes Essences a powerful tool for scaling your Operator’s effectiveness, but they won’t add new perks to a weapon that lacks them to begin with.

You primarily obtain Essences from Energy Alluvium encounters. Standard encounters have a chance to drop them, but unlocking Severe Energy Alluvium (by raising your Exploration Level) lets you spend Sanity for guaranteed high-rarity Essence drops. To reduce the randomness, use Pre-Engraving before a run. Interact with any Severe Energy Alluvium rift, select the Pre-Engrave button, then choose three Attribute stats and one Secondary or Skill stat. Any Essence you get from that run will carry one of your chosen Attributes, the chosen Secondary/Skill, and one completely random perk.

Equipping an Essence is straightforward. Open the Character screen, tap the Weapon tab, then tap the Essence button next to the Potential button, and select the Essence you want. Choosing the best Essence means comparing its perks against your weapon’s current set. Ideally, an Essence should enhance every existing perk, but sometimes you’ll have to weigh trade-offs — for example, a boost to a less-important perk might be worth it if the primary stat gain is high enough. Common perks you’ll see include Attack Boost, Arts DMG Boost, Flow, and Twilight, but the same
