Spice Residue in Dune Awakening – How to Get & Use

Spice, or Melange, is the most valuable resource in Dune Awakening, essential for the highest tier of equipment and refined products. Among its derivatives, Spice Residue plays a critical role in crafting high-level components such as Industrial Grade Lubricants and Particulate Filters. Players progressing into late-game crafting will need a steady supply, and there are two primary ways to obtain it: processing Spice Sand in a dedicated refinery or looting enemy facilities in the open world.

Refining Your Own Spice Residue

The most reliable method is to build and operate a Spice Refinery. The schematics become available once you reach the Duraluminum equipment tier and can be added to your construction tool using intel points. Constructing a refinery requires the following materials:

• 160x Duraluminum Ingot
• 130x Silicone Block
• 80x Cobalt Paste
• 70x Complex Machinery

Once built, each refining cycle consumes at least 100 Spice Sand and 750 Water to produce one unit of Spice Melange. After three minutes of processing, Spice Residue is generated as a byproduct. This is the most dependable way to stockpile Residue for crafting high-tier items.

Looting Enemy Refineries

If you lack the resources to build a refinery, Spice Residue can be scavenged from enemy outposts in the Eastern and Western Shield Wall. Two confirmed locations yield Residue and other useful materials:

• Keif’s Triumph (Eastern Shield Wall): After clearing the area, enter the second building behind the main structure. A chest in the corner contains Spice Residue.
