Pandemonium Ruptures: Season of Death Awakening

Season of Death Awakening launches on June 30 at 10:00 a.m. PDT, following Mephisto’s defeat and the end of the Age of Hatred. This season revolves around Pandemonium Ruptures – arcane tears in reality that spawn across Sanctuary, especially in Helltide Zones. You’ll earn rewards by keeping rifts open, battling new Risen monsters, and closing Tears. Glints of Hope collected from Ruptures can be redeemed at the reputation board in Zarbinzet for rewards including Pandemonium Fragments, the key currency for crafting Mythic Uniques.

Pandemonium Ruptures and Realmwalkers

Ruptures come in three types. Normal Ruptures appear in the overworld and are more common in Helltides. Surging Ruptures can replace local events inside Helltides. Colossal Ruptures are exclusive to the Fields of Desecration world boss arena. At each Rupture, kill guardians around Death’s Head Idols to open the rift, then hold it open by eliminating monsters and closing Tears. The longer you sustain the Rupture, the greater the rewards. Keep an eye out for Rupture Goblins that spawn additional rifts anywhere.

Completing a Surging Rupture with Mastery has a chance to summon a Realmwalker; Colossal Ruptures guarantee one. Defeating a Realmwalker opens a portal to the Deathtoll Chamber – a one-room mini-dungeon that can also be accessed inside Nightmare Dungeons with the Rupture affix. The Chamber is the best source for Superior Lair Keys, required to open the Seasonal Lair Boss’s hoard in Torment I+. Inside, Gravehounds (new Risen monsters) drop orbs that empower an Exarch; intercept the orbs to prevent its devastating attack.
